Colvend golf course is in one of the most attractive parts of Galloway with spectacular views across the Solway towards the Lake District.
The course tends to be hilly but you are rewarded with wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Colvend Golf Club was founded in 1905 and then re-designed in 1985 by architect Dave Thomas. It was extended to 18 holes which were opened in May 1997. The testing 18 hole parkland course is situated on the Solway Coast, conveniently located near to Dumfries, Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie.
Most of the holes offer challenging water features and tree lined fairways. The original 9 holes are demanding with small well guarded greens and undulating fairways. The 8th hole is one of the best par 3 holes in the country and is worthy of its stroke index 6.
The additional 9 holes are now well established and offer golf of the highest quality.
