This is a lovely course with stunning views of the Strathearn Valley. Its relatively wide fairways and a distinct lack of heavy rough should, however, not be taken lightly, as it has a nasty bite at times.
It’s not just the variety of the holes that provide the challenge, the weather often plays a part in the shaping your round. Plus, it opens with a par three, a delightful change from the norm.
Don’t let that full you, though…. As there are no less than three par fives to contend with on the opening nine holes.
Crieff has been a favourite destination for society and holiday golfers for many years. The club is only an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow; yet, situated at the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’ and surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of rural Perthshire, it provides a feeling of escape.
With Gleneagles only ten minutes away and St. Andrews, Carnoustie and Blairgowrie only an hour, Crieff is an ideal base for a golfing tour.
Voted 29th best golfing facility in the UK by the readers of Golf World magazine, Crieff Golf Club is one of Scotland’s top inland courses.
Built on gently sloping parkland, once the grounds of Ferntower House, the courses provide a fair, but challenging experience for all levels of players.
