Musselburgh Links, the Old Course

2,898 yards • par 34

Musselburgh Links, the Old Golf Course is the oldest playing course in the world.

Documentary evidence shows that golf was played on Musselburgh Links in 1672 although Mary, Queen of Scots reputedly played here in 1567.

It’s an original Open Championship venue, hosting this competition on six occasions between 1874 and 1889.

For a unique golfing experience, golfers can hire hickory clubs to see how the game used to be played.
