Gullane No.1

6,466 yards • par 71

Gullane No.1 has been a regular open qualifying course and in 1998 jointly hosted the British Amateur Championship which was eventually won by Sergio Garcia. Furthermore, during its prestigious history, Gullane has been the selected venue for the British Boys Championships, the Youths Championship, the Scottish Strokeplay, and the British Ladies Championship.

Gullane prides itself on the fact that despite the inclement winter weather, the ball is played as it lies throughout the year. The greens and turf here are amongst the best in Britain and without question these are the best greens in Scotland during the winter months.

The eighteen holes of Gullane No.1 Course were established in 1884. The well maintained greens, links grasses, numerous bunkers and sea breezes make a unique challenge for the serious golfer.

The 3rd hole was recently voted one of the top 500 holes in the world by Golf Magazine (USA). The world famous view from the highest point of the Course on the 7th tee across the course and over to Edinburgh, Fife and way beyond is worth the green fee alone.

With every hole having its own distinct character, the Course is both memorable and enjoyable. The course snakes across Gullane Hill from where views of East Lothian, Edinburgh and Fife are spectacular. Greens, fairways and bunkers are all superb and the course presents one of the best challenges in Scotland.
