The original nine holes were laid out over 40 leased acres of land located four minutes walk south of Dullatur Railway Station. The original course was extended to 18 holes in 1926 by James Braid, one of golf’s greatest course designers, who played in the opening match over the then new Dullatur golf course.
Now, over 100 years later, the club is housed in a newly built multi-functional Clubhouse overlooking the two 18 hole golf courses designed by Dave Thomas. Dullatur Golf Cub is home to some 900 golfers, 90 bowlers and 400 leisure and social members.
Carrickstone Course:
The Carrickstone Course is an undulating parkland course with natural hazards. It has 6 new holes designed by Dave Thomas. The remaining holes are the original design put in place by James Baird. The first 7 holes require the player to play accurate golf but the course becomes more forgiving when it opens out at the 8th where the holes become longer but wider. During the winter months of 2002 the quality of the course was vastly improved when a project was undertaken to upgrade all remaining greens to USG standards.
Antonine Course:
The Antonine Course is the 2nd and the newer of the two courses at Dullatur, designed by Dave Thomas. This course is shorter than the Carrickstone but requires a greater level of accuracy with tighter fairways leading to small but well bunkered greens! It offers a challenging but enjoyable game. Built over undulating country every hole presents an individual challenge with no 2 holes being the same.
Although a private Members Club, visitors are assured of a warm welcome at Dullatur Golf Club.
