Aberfeldy

5,014 yards • par 70

Aberfeldy Golf Club was founded in 1895 and, until 1995, was a nine hole course running along the south bank of the River Tay. In 1993 the Club decided to extend the course to eighteen holes.

In order to do this a bridge had to be built across the river and, almost a century to the day that it originally opened, the present course was opened to members and the public.

The course now runs on either side of the River Tay and has the unique attraction of allowing players to cross the historic river via its own private bridge, which is listed in the Guiness Book of Records.

The course is easily accessible being just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Constructed on the original flood plain the course is flat and a real pleasure to play as, even if the golf is bad, the views of the river and the surrounding hills are always a pleasure to behold.

Surely one of the most attractive of inland golf courses, this par 68 course also presents a worthwhile challenge to any aspiring golfer.

The Club House is basic, but can meet the needs of most golfers with its catering and bar facilities. Many individuals and parties revisit the course year after year, which illustrates just how accommodating and enjoyable they feel the Aberfeldy golfing experience is.
